November in Lancaster always feels festive and cosy. In the run-up to the Christmas holidays, we know it can be hard to juggle deadlines with your social life as there is a lot of studying to do! However, if you have some downtime or just want to explore the city, November is packed with events that everyone will enjoy. This year we have picked 5 very different events that will be fun to attend with your flatmates from your Lancaster University halls.



Are you a flat full of thespians? 


If you are a student of the arts, English literature or just a fan of Sherlock Holmes, on the 1st of Novemeber the Lancaster Grand Theatre will be telling a tale of murder, mystery and horror! Showcasing a brand new adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most popular thriller, “The Hound of the Baskervilles”, for one night only.

Bonfire night starts with a bang.


Remember, remember the 5th of November! This year Lancaster is celebrating bonfire night in style, there will be a fantastic two-day festival which will be hard to miss! "Light Up Lancaster 2022" (4 – 5 November) will feature, amazing installations, fascinating projections, music, dance, and interactive activities.

On the 11th of November, “Take 2 Cinema!” (Lancaster University's on-campus cinema) will be showing the cult classic,  Jurassic Park. For just £4.50 each, you and your flatmates can enjoy an evening of fun - plus as the nights get colder, you don’t need to worry about trekking into town, the cinema is only a 15 minute walk away from your flat at  Bailrigg Student Living.

The countdown to Christmas.


Lancaster is kicking off Christmas 2022 with an extravaganza stage show which promises not to disappoint, followed by the Christmas light switch-on countdown (hosted, of course, by Santa).

Pop down with your Lancaster University flatmates to enjoy an evening of festive fun, including a charity Santa dash, music, lights and of course the shops will be open until late.
