Days out to Preston
Having so much free time on your hands will mean that day trips to new places are at your disposal! Preston is rich in history and has a daily market in the town centre which has a range of food stalls as well as clothing and accessories sellers.
It’s easy to get to and the train is only a 17-minute journey from Lancaster train station. Attending the Univerity of Lancaster provides you with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the North East of England, taking the university experience to a whole new level. Leeds Festival
If you already have tickets for the legendary Leeds Festival and you're getting ready to see your favourite bands, Lancaster is the perfect place to travel from! There are direct train links from Lancaster to Leeds which only take 2 hours in total. The festival runs a handy shuttle bus service for those who take the train and drops you off at the festival site itself!
The other option is to catch the coach from Preston and get dropped off directly at the festival site. Staying in Lancaster is not only a perfect place for student life but with all the travel links it offers around the rest of the north, the location really does show how much you can get out of living here!

Sometimes doing something a little different like these mini-festivals can be the perfect way to get out of your Lancaster student living and embrace the freedoms of adulthood. Beach Days
